Special thanks to all of you who brought Mac & Cheese for the high school part of the CBC summer food drive benefiting CCA in Lewisville! We made our goal of 300 with a final total of 303 boxes in 4 weeks!

H.S. Sunday School August 1, 2010.

Brent McKinney, teaching. Summer Series: 1 Peter
This Week: Chapters 4 & 5: Finishing 1 Peter/Wrap Up

MANDATORY training meeting for everyone who wants to serve at Music Camp (Aug. 2-6, 9AM-3PM each day): Sunday, Aug. 1, 12:15-1:00PM in the CBC Café! You MUST sign up beforehand by e-mailing Sandi Shipley at ps149.4hymn@verizon.net.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON HANGING OUT!!! August 1, 1:15—3:00PM
Jordan Shipley is inviting everyone to come celebrate her birthday with her at her home for swimming and food! You’ll need to bring your swimsuit, a towel and (guys) bring a bag of chips to share and (girls) bring a 2-liter soft drink. The Shipley’s will be cooking out and providing the cake!
PLEASE let her parents know that you’re coming so they don’t buy too much (or too little) food! Simply send an e-mail to ps149.4hymn@verizon.net as soon as you read this so they’ll know how many to plan for!
There will be music camp “motions” practice toward the end of the party, so if you’re serving that ministry, please make every effort to attend!

Wednesday Night discipleship resumes on August 25 with a kick-off meeting in the Dungeon @ CBC, 7PM—8:30PM. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their students. Parents will meet with Brent from 7:15-8:00PM.

In home discipleship begins September 1. We’re looking for host homes for the class of 2013 and 2014, both guys & girls.

No meeting on August 4 to give a break to those serving Music Camp.

Senior Dinner @ Brent’s house: August 22, 2010: 6:00-7:30PM
(over, please)

CBC Fall Student Art Gallery Submissions Begin This Week!
Attention all artists, wanna-be artists, or people who think they might possibly want to be an artist: We are re-starting our Inside Out Student Art Gallery this fall, and we have the opportunity to showcase YOUR photographs, sketches, drawings, paintings, and poetry beginning on Sunday, September 5.
Simply frame any work that exemplifies your experience in the category of “Summer 2010.” Make sure to put your name, year of graduation and e-mail address (in case people want to purchase the work, they can do so directly with you) on an index card we can display next to the work. If you haven’t started, BEGIN NOW! Once you have your work, please e-mail Brent@Crossroadsbible.org as we will have a limit of 40 pieces and we need to know how much gallery space to reserve.

Save The Date: Remember last year’s “Masterpiece” photo shoot? This year we’ve got Tracy McKinney taking your photos again with a different theme…and we’re adding a “family” photo shoot after students are done that will fit the same theme but can be used for that recent family photo you’ve been meaning to take or Christmas cards or whatever. The date will be on Sunday afternoon, September 26. We’ll provide sign ups and pizza lunch as well…more info later this summer!

Service Opportunities:

*Don’t forget the “loose change” offering with the great Carley Baker heading up our drive this year!
