Announcements for August 28

Crossroads Bible Church Senior High Student Ministry August 28, 2011 Announcements

Sunday School, 10:30—11:45AM in the Dungeon:
Brent McKinney, teaching on Vision, Week #3.
We’ll be discussing the idea of “Spirit-led Living” from Galatians 5—6:10 and how it relates to the idea of “community.” This is part of our series on the direction the CBC student ministry is heading, and our thoughts about where & how you fit within the “bigger picture of ministry” using your gifts, talents & opportunities.

SENIOR MEETING: TODAY (AUG. 28), at Brent’s house. 1:00-2:00PM. RSVP to the CBC senior Facebook page to let Brent know you’re coming or not by Friday, Aug. 26 so we can order food!

Water Is Basic: TODAY, August 28, we’ll be taking up our offering during the Sunday School class to get a village in Africa a clean-water well. We’ll be combining those donations to the $1,516 we raised in a few months last year…we’re hoping to complete the remaining cost of the well (a little under $2,000) as soon as possible. If you’re writing a check, simply make it out to CBC.

CBC’s YEAR OF GONZO STUDENT ART UPDATE:
August’s project: Newspaper Black-Out is DUE TODAY. Turn it in the Brent in Sunday School.
September’s Project: Book Spine/DVD Spine Poetry.
Take a book or DVD and stack them up in such a way that the titles create a poem. Then take a photograph of that poem and turn it in by Sunday, September 25. You can use masking/painter’s tape to eliminate unnecessary words/author’s names, etc. if need be.
October’s project: Random Acts of Kindness Index Cards (explanation once we get past the September project)
